Viva Satire

I remember reading Twain's "Adventures of Huckleberry Finn" when I was high school and thinking that Twain's book sure had some blatant racial slurs and political incorrectness running rampant throughout the text. I discovered the cleverness and literary usefulness of satire because of Twain. So, I was interested in reading that some one thought that Twain's satirical passages could use some sanitizing. A new edition of Twain's book has been published with some more pristine language in place of the sharp usage of the word 'nigger' 219 times. I am even more fascinated by the overwhelming backlash this new edition has brought about. People are crying out, "censorship!" This open debate warms the heart. Who doesn't enjoy witnessing true freedom? God bless satire and free speech.
